Glenalbyn Tennis Club Championships 2018

posted 30 Aug 2018, 11:24 by Philip Mulligan

The rearranged Club Championships are starting next month on Tuesday, September 11th with the finals to be held on Saturday October 6th (however as for other years the mixed doubles final will be on the Friday night and only singles and doubles on the Saturday to avoid the situation where somebody may have to play 3 matches on the Saturday).

After a large entry and successful Club Championships in 2017, we are hoping to grow the Championships even more this year with as many members as possible participating. There will be five events - ladies and men's singles and doubles as well as mixed doubles.

These events will be separated into two sections based on the level of the participant, with those playing at Class 1-5 in Section A and those at Class 6, 7 and others in Section B, being the guidelines for the division between the sections. Depending on the numbers entered, some events will have a plate competition for those who are defeated in the first round, ensuring each participant has at least two matches. Looking forward to seeing a large entry this year again.

The Closing date for entries is Monday 10th September. Entry fee is 5 euros for one event or 10 euros for more than one event. The maximum number of events you can enter is 3.  Section A is for Classes 1 to 5. Section B is for classes 6, 7 and non-league. If you do not have a partner for a doubles or mixed event, just enter and we will pair you with a partner.

However if you entered already in April there is no need to re-enter. I have listed the names of the people who have already entered at the bottom of the email.

Note:

- First round matches should be arranged yourself and later rounds will be scheduled.

- Due to the tight timescale, matches MUST to be played by the due date or else forfeited.

It is preferable if you can enter online using the attached link:  https://ti.tournamentsoftware.com/sport/tournament.aspx?id=C3C4E943-9E9F-4730-AE9E-D9B5012B7DFF

. You don't need a tennis ID.

If you are unable to enter online, there will be forms available in the conservatory or you can print one above. Please leave the form with your entry fee in the tennis box through the door to the right of the bar.

Please contact Cliodhne, Peter Kingston or me if you have any queries. See attached forms for more details
