It is with great sadness that Glenalbyn Tennis Club have to announce the sudden death of Liz O’Gorman on Tuesday night in Glenalbyn during a League match. We know it must be a huge shock to her husband Jack and all her family and friends as it is to everyone at the club. It is still so hard to believe as Liz has been such a big part of the club since its foundation. She passed on her passion for tennis to so many people and was so greatly loved and admired by all. Her legacy will live on for many years to come. She died doing what she loved and she will be sadly missed by everyone.

Huge thanks to all who responded so quickly on Tuesday night and made sure the emergency services were at the club within minutes. Liz would have been very proud of the response and how everyone worked as a team.

Liz’s family and friends will be coming back to the club after the funeral on Friday, so as a mark of respect the courts will be closed all day Friday.

Funeral arrangements are as follows:

Reposing at her residence on Thursday evening from 6 o’clock to 8 o’clock. Funeral Mass on Friday morning at 10 o’clock in the Church of St. Laurence O’Toole, Kilmacud followed by cremation in Mount Jerome, Harold’s Cross. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu to Autism Ireland.

 May she rest in peace
