The final matches of the Mixed Doubles took place on Sunday followed by a
BBQ, prize giving in the bar and a heavy downpour that thankfully we avoided.
Great turnout on Sunday for the matches and the BBQ afterwards and there was a
real buzz about the place.
Huge thank you to Sharon and Tara for cooking all the food for 50 people
or thereabouts on the small BBQ and keeping it hot until it was served. Thanks to
Anu for looking after the salads etc in the bar and doing all the preparation work
upstairs. Big thank you to everyone who brought desserts and salads as we had
loads of food to go around and we needed every bit of it.
Thanks to the 6 captains who managed the groups over the 3 weeks Tara, Colum,
Aidan, Olive, Denis and Caroline. Thanks to the subs who came in on Sunday and
throughout the tournament.
Finally thanks to everyone who played as it was a great turnout and so
good to see so many new members taking part. As we said on Sunday we will organise
another one in the Autumn.
Well done to all the
winners in each group (prizes went to top male and female in each group). Peter
and Tara, Giz and Nadine, Ed and Karen, John and Olive, Rory and Niamh and Colm
and Cara.
